Synopsis
It is now widely accepted that any modern organization needs a digital strategy if it is to achieve its goals; schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions are no exception.
Digital technology is the name given to the newest Internet-based technologies (such as video and collaboration, social media, mobility, data analytics and embedded sensor devices) that hold the potential to transform learning and instruction and shape people’s lives. The use of these newest Internet-based technologies in innovative ways should be the educational focus for a modern school and university for creating a superior environment and a superior experience for students, researchers and staff.
Regular and confident use of digital technology by staff and educators is the only way to bake it into the very heart of modern school or university, and in this way to create a digital environment. This is not easy. It requires senior management leadership, linked to programs of digital skills development, and significant cultural and process changes. This is the only approach to accelerating the use of disruptive digital technology across all the other aspects; including for digital teaching, learning and research, and for creating effective digital communities of stakeholders.
Therefore, this special session invites authors to submit high-quality research papers on the topics which include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Prominent digital technologies impacting education
- The influence of technology on research practices
- New models of teaching and learning enabled by digital technologies
- Making sense of organizational and learning data
- Creating a digital strategy for school or university
- Monitoring and tracking progress toward digitization
Paper Submission:
Prospective authors are invited to submit full-length papers (not exceeding 6 pages) conform to the IEEE format . All papers will be handled and processed electronically via the EDAS online submission system.
Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present their papers.
